How's it Going?

Just fine.  Thanks for asking! :-)

I thought I'd give a little update on how things are going since I went back to full-time.  It's been an adjustment but it hasn't been awful.  Karlyn staying longer with the sitter has actually been the easiest part and I don't think she's skipped a beat!  She loves it over there which makes this mama incredibly happy.  I still miss her and look at her photos on my desk but it means the world knowing she's in good hands.  I am always so ready to see her once I leave and it makes our time together even more precious.

I'm busy at work which is a good thing.  But it has been a little challenging trying to learn and get a grasp on the new projects they have me working on.  I pretty much had an emotional breakdown on Thursday in fact but I pulled it together, wiped my tears, and finished the day.  I know I'll get it all down; it's just going to take a little while.  They have faith in me so I'm trying to have faith in myself too.

Ryan and I celebrated 5 years of wedded bliss yesterday!  We celebrated with a low-key Friday night in: pizza and a movie.  It was so fun!  We never get to just watch an entire movie together and both of us (ahem, RYAN) stay awake.  He managed to watch the whole movie...except for about 10 minutes where the quirky twist in the movie happened (don't worry - I caught him up to speed.)  I'm so thankful to have been with this man for 5 whole years.  We talked about what the next five might look like...who knows?!  I'm sure it won't go exactly as planned. :>

We got to meet sweet baby Madeline on Saturday afternoon, Ryan's cousin's new little girl.  She's so cute!  Then today I went to a baby shower for Samantha from our Sunday School class who is due with Zoey Jane in about 4 weeks.  Babies, babies.  You know what was funny too?  Sitting around with Ryan's side of the family last night while they cast their opinions on when we should pop out #2.  Ha ha.  We'll get there people.  Believe me, baby fever has been creeping in a bit lately.

Speaking of, Karlyn will turn 15 months old on Friday!  I can't believe it.  It feels like we just had her 1 month birthday.  Crazy how time flies.  She is so stinking fun right now and I'm hoping to do a 15 month post for her with some pictures.  I love her squishy, smooshy self.

I'm getting my hair done next Saturday and I cannot wait.  I'm ready to put some blonde back in!  Just in time for my 29th birthday. :-)  I haven't colored my hair since February of last year - not including the temporary box dye I did a few months ago.  I'm pretty sure that's some kind of record for me.

Did you catch above that I ate pizza?  Well I did.  Ugh.  Don't be disappointed but I kinda ended Eat Real a bit early.  I guess I'm not as will-powered as I'd hoped and I just hit a wall.  I won't make excuses because it was 100% my choice.  It's just difficult at times, especially now with less time to cook and prep.  I'm still trying to figure out how Paleo I want to eat and what is realistic.  I am just not that person that can eat a sweet potato 7 times a week!  I'm not.  Have I learned a ton and picked up on some fantastic recipes through these challenges?  Yes.  Will I eat strick Paleo for the rest of my life?  No.  Is it a learning process I'm still going through?  Yes, and I'm giving myself time and experience to try things out.  It would be so much easier if I didn't love to bake.  Bummer.

I'll leave you with this.  Note the progression~

I've been trying to let her practice. ;>
