About

Hi, I'm Kati!  Wife to Ryan.  Mommy to Karlyn.  Author of this blog.

I enjoy writing and started this blog to keep up with life at the Iveys and to have a place I can go to reminisce. I love snapping pictures, looking at pictures, and remembering those funny special moments that make life worthwhile. I don’t have a super fancy camera so these days most of them come from my iPhone. It’s easier to catch a toddler smile that way!

I have a passion for health and healthy eating and love to try new recipes in the kitchen. I like to feed our family well and find that eating good = feeling good = looking good! I've struggled with different health issues over the years including depression, insomnia, and miscarriage. These eventually (along with medical testing) and my own experimentation led me to a gluten-free diet which I've adopted since April of 2013. I favor a natural approach to things but balanced and do-able is important to me too.

Ryan and I were married in March of 2007. Through the blissful and the difficult, he’s stood by my side and supported me. He makes me laugh and balances out my crazy, easily stressed-out self. I’m so thankful for him and how he loves us.

In March of 2010, we were excited to learn that a sweet baby was on the way! Karlyn came ten days before her due date and was our precious little Christmas baby. I never knew I could love someone as much as I love that girl. She makes my world go round.

In the past three years, we've had four more pregnancies and four losses. May of 2012, March of 2013, and two in 2014. By far, it has been the hardest thing I've ever had to go through and we want so much for Karlyn to have a sibling. As we continue to trust God to bring that in His timing, it hasn't been easy. There are days filled with doubt and fear and questions but I know that He sees it all. He is right there with us holding our hands and isn't letting go.

I love my family and am blessed beyond what I deserve. My hope is to make a difference in the lives of those around me and for God to use me however He sees fit. Thanks for visiting my blog!
