Karlyn's Birthday - Part 2!

The big day!  I told Ryan ahead of time that the plan was for him to stay home with Karlyn that morning and let her nap while I made one last store stop and then helped get things ready at the house.  She didn't get a huge nap but it was fine.  The party was a lot of fun and even though our good buddy Asher didn't make it, Karlyn's BFF Mallory was there to help her celebrate :-)  Grandparents, great-grandparents, and aunt and uncles came too!

I was really proud of myself and thought the decorations ended up looking perfectly pretty for my little 1 year old.  I even made a party playlist for some background music.  Fun songs by Jack Johnson, She and Him, Jason Mraz...  My sweet friend Amanda snapped some pics for us throughout the party and then of course I managed to take too many myself.  Here are some of the best ones!

And now...for the birthday outfit!!!  Side note.  My child doesn't smile for pictures.

Let's face it people.  My daughter doesn't have enough hair or willpower to keep a bow in her hair.  But we tried!  She also managed to somehow break the tutu elastic half-way through the party so that was fun.  Ryan tried to tape it back together (with blue painter's tape!) but that didn't work.  Onesie and leg warmers it was!  Amanda took this super cute pic of the girls~

We can't wait to watch these two grow up together.  They are 5 months and 5 days apart!  Mallory gave Karlyn a very special little girls Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh that we are so excited to read with her.  So fun!

Time for presents!  And CAKE!

It was such a special day for our sweet girl and many thanks to those of you who came and celebrated with us!  We love each and every one of you.  Karlyn received so many fun toys and cute clothes and we were richly blessed by everyone's generosity.  We appreciate as I said at the party the love, encouragement, and support you've shown our family over the past year...and the 9 months leading up to it!  Thank you again!

I can't believe I have a 1 year old.  She already seems different ;>
