I thought I'd post a little re-cap of the last month since I really haven't blogged since I went back to work at the beginning of March. Yep. I made it a whole month. We made it. Karlyn actually has done amazing and loves being at Lindsey's. She is learning so much too! That girl astounds me. She can already sing some of the ABC song, count a little, and make a few animal sounds.
What do cow's say? Mooooo. What do pigs say? Eh, eh, eh, eh. (Oink, actually) What do ducks say? Duck, duck, duck, duck. She'll get there. :>
The hardest part for me I feel is behind me, and that was learning the new tasks and projects I was handed. Luckily I've had some good training though and aside from a major meltdown one morning after a meeting, it's gone very smoothly. I enjoy work most days. I enjoy the people I work with. I feel it fits my personality well. But that doesn't mean that I havent't felt some guilt on days or missed my baby. Overall though, I'm happy with my decision and I can't state this enough but at this time and for this season, I feel like it's a good thing. A year from now I can't say everything won't have changed!
Ryan is back at full capacity health wise and for that we are SO grateful. I love seeing my strong man back at work and back to his old self. His busy season is in full swing right now which means us girls don't get to see him much. At least it's only for a few months though and not all year. I don't know what I'd do if it was!
Ryan turned 30 in February. March 10th was our 5 year anniversary. And on March 20th, I hit the big 29. I'm excited about twenty-nine, and even my thirties. I think it's going to be a great decade. I made my own birthday cake this year and enjoyed it immensely :-) I made a "hummingbird cake" at the suggestion of a few people and it was super yum. I've also been shopping lately with b-day money and I'm pretty sure I need to stop buying shoes. ASAP.
Today I met our sitter Lindsey and her daughter Eleina for a kids event with an egg hunt, bounce house, Disney radio, and more. It was supposed to run from 11-2 so I figured if we got there a little after 11:00 we'd be ok. Um, no. Apparently the "egg hunt" started promptly at 11:00 and lasted a whopping 3 minutes. #MomFail. Oh well. We may try again tomorrow night or we may not. There's always next year! The rest of the booths were geared towards older kids but Karlyn still had fun I think. Our girls could be sisters~

Duck, Duck, Duck, Duck |
Oh, I get candy too? |
This isn't as fun as I thought it'd be. |
Seriously. First chance we get. We're outta here. |
This is supposed to be a drum?? |
Ooook. |
Karlyn is having her 1st sleepover tonight with my parents and my sister just texted me that she's not asleep yet and crying a little. :( I'm a sad momma! Hopefully she'll fall asleep and do ok tonight. I CANNOT even remember having a house this quiet and still. Weird.
I feel like God is working on me lately, on a very specific matter. I didn't see it coming and it's a little scary. It's scary to give up control. It's scary to trust. And it's scary when your thinking on something does a 180. I'm confident though that the safest and most blessed place to be is smack dab in the middle of God's will. I really want to be there.
I just polished off a chicken taco salad from Taco Bueno. And now I'm about to eat some cookies and cream with Everybody Loves Raymond. Don't judge.

Oh I hate your cryptic comments! You always make me so curious. I totally understand not wanting to blab every thought or emotion online. :)
I'm starting Whole30 on Monday. Yes, I'm crazy. No, I'm not even doing Crossfit, so I'm probably setting myself up for failure. But Matt's doing it with me. That's a start, right?
Karlyn's so cute! She wouldn't have remembered the Easter egg hunt anyway :)
Heather, I'm sorry! How about if we talk about it in person sometime? :>
Good luck on Whole30! It is great to have Matt doing it also because that will help. It's hard, especially at first but hang in there and it gets better and you really do feel better.
Um, yes! Either face to face or on the phone. I miss you!
It's going to take some SERIOUS willpower, so we'll see. My parents already do Paleo, and my mom said she'd to the 30 day with us, too. I'll let you know how it goes!
