It's Sunday afternoon. And my boys are doing what they do best.
He was tired!! Maybe my lunch put him to sleep too? White Bean Chicken Chili
**Taken from the back of the White Bean Chicken Chili seasoning packet :>
1 lb. of chicken. 1 can undrained of white northern beans. Aforementioned seasoning packet. Optional: Diced tomatoes and/or corn
Cook your chicken in a heated skillet with 1 T. of oil. I used my spatutal to make bite sized pieces...Add the beans, 1 can drained diced tomatoes, 1 cup of corn, seasoning, and 1 cup of water.
Stir together, bring to a boil, and let simmer for 10-15 minutes.
When it's done cooking and you can't wait to taste it, decide you need cornbread to go with it. Sweet corn bread that is.
Lick the bowl and don't give a second thought to...um, something about avoiding raw egg
Set out your toppings: Cheese, sour cream, and avocado
Tell your husband to get off the couch and computer and come fix his plate bowl. Congratulate yourself on making such a delicious lunch with minimal effort.
Take this picture in the kitchen but eat where you always eat: in the livingroom.
Also, use a wine glass. Just because.
Decide that black pepper adds the finishing touch and that this meal needs to become a staple.
I'm 22 weeks along today with baby Karlyn :)
I decided I needed a barefoot + pregnant picture...barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen!
We had our follow-up sonogram on Friday that was so much fun and so reassuring! She was still a she and Jules was able to see everything she needed to see. Kidneys, heart (all 4 chambers!) brain, arms, legs, and her cute little profile.
Isn't she just adorable??
That appointment did me a world of good...as I said here that I'd had a really rough week. I'm glad I wrote that post though. I want to be open and honest on my blog, as much as I can. It's easy sometimes to look at someone and think they have it all together when really they may be struggling with the exact same things you are. I even had a couple of people tell me (off the blog) that they could sympathize with what I was saying and had thought the same thoughts themselves. I can't tell you what that meant to me, to know that I am not alone. I am so glad for friends who can admit to the same fears and desires I battle with. I know God has a purpose and a plan for each situation that He brings us to. I was reminded in the sermon this morning to see the promise of God's provision. He doesn't just bring us to a new place, drop us off, and say, "Ok, good luck. Hope it all goes well!"
Thank goodness! He sees every step along the way and knows the solution to every hurdle we come up against.
I was thrown another curveball just last night. **you know who you are, and that I am SO HAPPY for you!** :) But this is another test where Ryan and I have to decide whether we're going to panic and worry and or TRUST that God has something else in mind. Wouldn't it be great if I could step back and see that and almost be excited about how God is going to provide, in a different way? I hope that I can. I know for me personally, many times just after a good night's sleep things look so much better and I have more peace. Funny how that works. I do feel peace though that everything is going to work out. With my job, with this baby we're expecting, with finances, and with the future. God has never failed to provide in the past and has always brought me to new and higher heights than I could ever have imagined.
I'll wrap this marathon post up. Congrats to those of you who hung in there :> I'll do a separate post soon about our adventure in baby registering yesterday, later this week. It was fun! I hope you each have a wonderful week.

I'm so glad to hear that your baby girl is doing well!! :) Love that name, so pretty!! And look how great you look!! Such a sweet baby bump!! :) Isn't baby registering so much fun!! Now I'm ready for showers to begin!! :)
Always remember the ways God has provided for you already. Why would he stop now? He loves you and will bring the best things to your life in time. :)
You look great! Love the barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen picture. My husband would love a picture like that. LOL
You are right, God WILL provide...for the both of us!!! I am at the point in my life that I can sit back and say, "OK, You allowed this to happen this way even though it is not exactly how we planned for it to happen, so we will trust You to take care of us." Funny how we plan out how we want things to happen, then WHAM! I'm excited to know that I will be able to witness to others by giving God the credit and glory for getting us through the months ahead of us! His timing is perfect!
You CANNOT make chili without cornbread! Oh, and I've been known to lick the raw egg bowl as well. ;)
You look so great and sound so happy. Again, many congrats to you and your husband. Sounds like Karlyn is blessed with two awesome parents. :)
