Long Time No See!

Oh my gosh ya'll.  You have no idea. 

I have been lost without my home computer.  And my blog!  I felt like I had just switched over to wordpress when our old laptop went caput. (sp?)  With some help from our IT department at work, Ryan and I decided to get this refurbished HP laptop.  I had it shipped to my work so I could sign for it.  It just came today!!!  I was so happy to get it and immediately took it out of the ginormous box they shipped it in.  So pretty! :->  I'm so thankful to have one again and feel connected to society and the BLOG WORLD!  Of course I've been keeping up with my favorites via iPhone but it's just not the same.  And you can't post pictures!  Actually, you probably can but I'm technologically challenged to say the least.

So.  I'm hoping I haven't lost my 2? 3?  faithful readers during my brief hiatus ;>  My mom is even reading my blog now!  Hi Mom :-)

And speaking of moms.

Do you guys remember this post?  On April 5th, I wrote a "Thank You" post.  It was the day after Easter and I was reminiscing over a wonderful weekend spent with family and also pondering what might lie ahead.  I believe my exact words were:

While I’m halfway scared to see what April brings…after wisdom teeth in Jan, sprained elbow in Feb, and the flu in March! I’m hopeful too. I know God’s timing is never early-never late. Like Steve said today, “Lord I want to believe. Help me not to doubt.” 

I had no idea what April might bring.  And I might not have even believed you if you'd laid it out in front of me.  I was doubtful.  And hopeful at the same time.  I'd prayed.  Cried.  And longed for this so many days.  I wanted to trust God but I was afraid to, and I thought I knew better.  I didn't understand His timing or lack of it, in my opinion.  I'm just being honest. 

Then April 14th came.  April 14th, 2010. 

In the span of a minute, my life was forever changed. 

The screen flashed: Pregnant

AAAhhhh!  I'm pregnant!!!  We're going to have a baby!  It was surreal.  I think I got 2 hours of sleep that night.  One of the BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE, hands down.  I'm beyond excited; we both are.  I'll have a more firm due date after my next appointment but we think the little munchkin will arrive sometime around Christmas.  Um, best Christmas present ever??  :)

So that's been our month :>  We told our parents this past weekend and maybe I'll do a separate post on that.  I think pretty much everyone knows now.  But hopefully this will come as a surprise to a few of you ;>  Yes another reason I was so anxious to get a new computer:  BABY BLOGGING!  But don't worry, I'll still be posting food pics (Ben & Jerry's anyone?) and the daily ins and outs of the Ivey household.  Some come along for the journey if you want!  I have a feeling the next 8 months are going to make for one wild ride. ;>
