Look what we did this weekend!
Ryan did a super fabulous job of putting together the crib & dresser we picked out for Karlyn. We bought the furniture on Friday night and got to work on it Saturday morning after pancakes :) I really didn't think it would take all day but it took a while! I helped...holding pieces up, putting knobs on. Encouraging. And making sure Dodge didn't swallow any screws.
The dresser was a little more tedious than the crib and we only had one real glitch where Ryan had to take apart and put back together one of the drawers. Overall, it went really smoothly and I am so happy with how it looks!
These two pieces take up a lot of the room but it's still going to be the perfect size for our girly :> I haven't bought the mattress yet but I wanted to see how the bedding was going to look!
I told Ryan now that I'm just going to sit in her room until she's here. ha ha. Except I don't have a chair yet...I really want some type of glider and I'm hoping it would fit in the corner by the window. Then the room reallly will be full! :/ I'd kinda like to hang the letters of her name above the crib too...I think that would be cute. Who's crafty and wants to help me with that? ;>
I can't believe I'm 29 weeks today. It's gone by slow at times, and fast at times. She's gonna be here before we know it! November is going to be a really busy month for us with a couple of showers, our childbirth class, and Thanksgiving. Then it'll be December!
In honor of my college alma mater...and their homecoming weekend:
Not sure why the coloring is so different here. I really need to read up on my camera settings. That's on my to-do list before the baby gets here...
I've been encountering some not so lovely 3rd trimester joys such as:
constant stuffy nose. heartburn. ih! that hurts! more frequent waking up throughout the night. lower back pain occasionally if I do too much. just overall more pressure...like taking a walk is getting a little uncomfortable. And I know it's only going to get better worse :) But I'm doing good overall and so super excited about the weeks to come. I also got some good tentative work news and possibly some good childcare news too! We'll see what happens.
We have another wedding to go to this afternoon for Ryan's co-workers. It's supposed to be a pretty big shin dig I think and I'm hoping I get some cake this time! I probably should be napping right now - but I wanted to update. I know my blog has been more baby and less food/exercise but I really haven't had the time or energy to do more on that end. I hope to one day return to that though!
I have the day off tomorrow! Thank you Columbus. Does anyone else?
*Happy 10-10-10 !*

I'm with you on the 3rd trimester stuff... I was feeling so great, but suddenly this past week I started getting the lower back pain too... mostly when I bend over too much. Which is hard to avoid as a first grade teacher!! And yes, lots more pressure. But it's still so much fun!! :)
Our babies will be here before we know it!! You look so wonderful!! :)
You should go see Life As We Know It. Mark and I went yesterday, it was great, I cried.
Karlyn's room is so cute, I know that you are anxiously awaiting her arrival.
Aw her room is so adorable!! I love it.
I love the crib & dresser!!! I'm 21 weeks and have started looking at furniture :-)
