Dr. T

I blog in spurts, can ya tell?

I went to see Dr. T. today.  My chiropractor!  I don't know when the first time I went was but man, if you haven't been ever had your back or neck adjusted, I'm tellling you.  It. feels. good.  Although you may be a little sore at first.  I have a knot issue.  Around my right trap area, I get this moveable knot that just tightens up and hurts.!  Some days are worse than others and I think it stems from a combination of sitting at my desk all day (typing/using a mouse) and that being the spot where I tense up when stressed.   I've tried massages, Dr. T, and even some physical therapy to see what exercises/stretches are best.  I'm hoping that once I cut back my work hours after the baby comes, that will help too.

But back to my adjustment.  It sounds scary.  All that popping and twisting, but it feels sooo good.  Like when you pop your fingers but x10.  You feel like you can move again!  I like Dr. T. because he's very nice and listens to any concerns you have.  He always has this white board out in the waiting room that lists facts and plusses of chiropractic care.  Today was all about the benefits of being adjusted while pregnant!  I can't remember all of it but it talked about different decreased percentages of labor time, c-sections, breech births, and a stronger immune system as a result of being adjusted.  Also, later on when I get bigger, adjustments can decrease sciatic pain in my legs- if I get that.  He explained how as your stomach gets bigger and pulls your forward, women compensate by arching their back.  This puts a strain on your sciatic nerve ( I think?) and can send shooting pains down your legs.  Fun right?

So my plan right now is to go once a month.  If I start having issues, maybe twice.  I'd love to go weekly but that kinda adds up in the money department.

I had a productive day at work and even had energy to spare so I made us some dinner.

This was some seasoned ground turkey, spinach salad with tomatoes, cheese, and italian dressing, squash "casserole," and some mayo pasta salad to which I added: tomatoes, onions, and yellow pepper.  It was very colorful!

The squash was frozen that I boiled and mixed with sour cream, pimentos, and Mrs. Dash seasoning and then baked for 15 minutes.  I saw the recipe on the squash package and decided to try it.  It was ok.  And slightly runny.  But we ate it :>

I'm  gonna do some blog reading now...one of my favorite things to do!  And enjoy my newly loosened up neck.

Several years ago I somehow injured my tailbone and it hurt for like a year straight. I finally went to a chiropractor to see if that would help, and it did! It also helped with my sinuses when I was having my neck adjusted frequently. I'm a fan...but now too broke, even with insurance, to go.

I've never been to a chiropractor. I have always heard such amazing things though. I hope the knot stops bothering you.
