I knew my car needed a bath too. Dodge and I went (post-bath) up to the car wash and forked over money to have my black Chevy Equinox all prettied up. I usually go over the dash area again once I'm home but the outside looked great! And of course we have a high chance of rain/storms tomorrow. Perfect.
Oh well, I love driving a clean car, especially on the inside. I don't know why I don't do a better job of keeping it neat...oh wait, yes I do. I'm totally an all-or-nothing person when it comes to cleaning! Most of the time. We ran into Sharon and Ashley, Ryan's mom and sister, at the car wash! We got to talk a bit and Sharon got to hold her "grand-dog." :> ha.
The rest of our morning/day was spent cleaning up the house, Ryan working on his Sunday School lesson, and me buying groceries. They have switched our little Wal-mart completely up! The aisles are all different now but I found it kind-of fun walking down each one...like oh, what is this one now?? It seems like they've added a few new products too. I saw some new Annie's dressings AND a smallish section of gluten-free products! This will be great for Ryan's dad who has been diagnosed with Celiac's disease and is supposed to be avoiding gluten. ;>
I fueled up for my morning with a mixed bowl of 3 cereals:
(plain shredded wheat, wheatabix cookie crisp **won't buy this again!** and oatmeal squares + banana!)
When lunch time rolled around, I knew what I wanted! After seeing this on Tina's blog, I knew I wanted to try it. I found it at Kroger and shelled out the $4.50...I'm a sucker for new healthy foods/products and thought this would make a great addition to Meatless in March!!
Yummy?? It was!!! Gardein = Garden Protein, so the package says... I was wary of how it would taste because you just never can tell with meatless "meat" products! But I was pleasantly surprised :> The bbq sauce was not very strong but was subtle/sweet and although I think I could tell I wasn't eating genuine meat the texture was pretty much spot on. I will totally buy this again and now I want to try the other Gardein varieties! Do you eat "fake meat" products? How do you feel about them? Favorite brands? I heart Morningstar varieties too!
I decided to have a pulled bbq sandwich on a sandwich thin with cheese + a pickle!
and I had leftovers!
I also found THESE at Kroger!!!!!
Seriously, I've been waiting foreverrr for these flavors to show up at my store! I can't wait to try them!! Has anyone tried these??? Do you like LARABARs? My favorite flavor is Peanut Butter Cookie (I know, shocker!) But honestly, I can't say that I LOVE all the other flavors...the Apple Pie one is pretty good...
Two other semi-new products I bought this weekend:
I usually buy Almond Breeze in the cereal aisle at Tom Thumb...which means it's shelf stable and not cold. But now they're selling it in the milk section! Same price, 2x as much milk!! Yay!!!! Although I do wish they had plain as well as vanilla...
Wild Roots brand, milled golden flaxseed. I spotted this at the little Wal-Mart and knabbed it! I usually buy our ground flax seed in a box sold on the baking goods aisle but this was near the peanut butter (I think?) and what can I say...the shiny new package lured me in ;> Ryan said he needs to remember to throw this into his morning protein shakes!
Last night was spent catching up with some girls from my college sorority, Delta Chi Rho! It was a small group but we had so much fun. It was neat to hear what everyone was up to and also talk about
I got home late and slept in a little this morning while Ryan went to early service. So now I'm blogging while Dodge naps on the Broncos blanket next to me...good times :) I guess I'm gonna be lazy and not go to the late service. I was going to but then I realized it was drizzling outside and Ryan's about to be home anyways. I do plan on reading my Bible later though :)
Have a glorious Sunday friends-
