Her trick? Commit to a week of not leaving the house. She picks a target week on the calendar and they don't make any appointments, play dates, etc for that whole week. The focus is purely potty training. They are in their comfort zone, her son is comfortable, there is no distraction being somewhere else, and they go to the potty every two hours, regardless of if they need to go. The first two days it's every two hours, then she stretches it to three, and then she lets the kid tell her when they need to go. Then, he week following, they still stick close to the house, but they allow themselves to go places, but never longer than a couple of hours. She said that it is really hard to make that kind of commitment, but if you view it as "June is potty training month and nothing else" then it gets easier. And she says that with both boys she has only every had three accidents EVER. Amazing. Anyway...food for thought. good luck with your singing pot!The Norvellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02838572956075942058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2691719225030385213.post-35796155127412271232012-04-10T07:00:12.742-05:002012-04-10T07:00:12.742-05:00That's the same potty we have for Eleina! :-) ...That's the same potty we have for Eleina! :-) She loved it, especially when it sang. :-)Lindseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00928255654279904721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2691719225030385213.post-4193126224547341852012-04-09T23:55:55.376-05:002012-04-09T23:55:55.376-05:00Well, I read The Help 50 years too late.
